ASRC Federal is seeking a part time (25 hours per week) Entry-Level Payroll Support Specialist. The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday at our Reston, VA office.

ASRC Federal is seeking a part time (25 hours per week) Entry-Level Payroll Support Specialist. The work schedule will be Monday through Thursday at our Reston, VA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Assist employees in understanding paystubs and tax withholdings
- Escalate complex issues to senior payroll staff or HR
- Maintain and organize payroll records and documentation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Complete new Payroll tax documentation in coordination with the legal department.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records (e.g., direct deposit info, W-4 forms)
- Support new hire setup and terminations in the payroll system
- Support the Payroll Director with ad hoc projects and reports.
Requirements
- 0 to 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll support experience (internships or part-time work are often acceptable).
- Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., Dayforce, ADP, Paychex) is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Data entry accuracy and familiarity with reconciliations or invoice processing.
- Ability to learn accounting and payroll systems quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Team player with a willingness to learn.
