We are seeking a strong IT Operations Engineer to support the Air Force . Position Description (what you will do)
- The IT operations team ensures that the Cloud One environment is stable and accessible. Their customer is the operators who are using applications within the Cloud One environment.
- Provides support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware. Handles problems that the first-tier of help desk support is unable to resolve. May interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Maintains currency and highest level of technical skill in field of expertise.
- Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establish goals and plans that meet project objective
- Has domain and expert technical knowledge
- Decision-making and domain knowledge may have critical impact on overall project implementation
- May be a lead for others
Requirements :
- Experience working with and enabling/administering databases
- Creating and maintaining documentation for implementations
- Ensure platform and network environments are compliant with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps guidance, automated, stable, reliable, and available
- Support required automation and tooling to deploy and manage applications quickly
- A deep understanding for DevSecOps methodologies and operational missions
- Experience in providing support to IT operations, troubleshooting and fixing production applications in multiple environments
- Working knowledge of Source Version Control, Build/Release tools and methodologies, and Software Build process
- Able to troubleshoot issues to determine root-cause and drive to resolution
- Familiarity with Linux and scripting (Bash and Python, etc.)
- Support writing and sizing of capabilities, features, and user stories in an increment based on the approved prioritization, and identify stretch goals (additional features/stories) for each Scrum Team per increment
- Strong organizational skills
- Eager to learn new technologies and gain an expert-level understanding of the latest approaches (auto-scaled cloudbased systems, serverless architectures, cloud/on-premises hybrid solutions)
- Ability to work on high performing teams; work independently as well as with team members
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of ServiceNow - 8750 Certification or Sec+
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Experience with cloud systems and architectures (Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) with the configuration of AWS EC2 instances and Lambda functions a plus
