Job Description:
The SCA-Electronics Technician IIIsupports operations, maintenance and requirements of the Life Cycle Contractor Support for the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Capability Instrumentation System (JPMRC-IS) program under the Army Warfighter Training & Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. JPMRC-IS operations support the Army s USARPAC mission: to provide realistic joint and combined arms training focused on developing soldiers, leaders, and units of the United States military for success on the 21st century battlefield. This experience includes capabilities of many of the world's best systems integration and engineering in the technical integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training support.
This is a casual position (works for 30-45 days at a time, 2 - 3 times a year during military training exercises) and requires travel to Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Philippines, etc...
Role:
Maintaining and repairing buildings, grounds, and related facilities; installing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining in efficient operating condition a wide variety of engines and mechanical equipment designed for use in domestics, commercial, industrial, and agricultural activities.
The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform PMCS, troubleshoot and isolate faults
- Use spare/repair parts to repair faults IAW technical guidelines
- Research and select repair parts needed
- Enter work order data in the on-line management information system (MIS)
- Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting manufacturers? manuals or similar documents
- Take test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
- Secures all equipment at the end of each event.
- Provides services during non-standard duty hours.
- Conducts daily and routine maintenance, recommended manufacture modifications and customer requests on all equipment and produces a daily report.
- Reports repairs needed on equipment to customer, tests repaired equipment and notifies customer with all appropriate information regarding equipment.
- Assists with periodic physical inventory of all equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- A 2 year Associate's Degree in electronics or combination of education and experience
- 2 -5 years of experience with electronics testing/troubleshooting
- Able to obtain US passport.
- Possess an Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Intermediate computer skills. Proficient with basic computer systems including email and Microsoft Office applications and be able to work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license and Post driving privileges
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind and rain).
- Must be detailed oriented.
