We have an opening for a Staff Cyber Software Engineer to join our SDA team in Redondo Beach, CA.

In this role, you will support software security engineering matters for a space program at the factory and its remote sites. You will provide technical security consultation, guidance in the design, development, and deployment of secure compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have exposure and experience securing virtualization technologies to include virtual software, machines and appliances; demonstrated leadership and project execution skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a team-oriented environment and independently; technical presentation skills; demonstrated ability to complete tasks with minimal direction and oversight.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience; PhD with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret clearance required at the time of application
  • Expert knowledge of computer security processes
  • Experience working with Computer Security/ISSO personnel and customers
  • Experience with Cyber products for systems to include logging, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection mechanisms, patching systems, anti-virus and related processes
  • Experience with software automation of system hardening
  • Experience with DISA STIGs as they apply to Cisco, RHEL and Windows
  • Security+ or CISSP certification


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to mentor and train staff members
  • Experience with virtualization technologies to include virtual software, machines, and appliances
  • Experience with RMF, Cyber Vulnerability Testing, Security Control Traceability Matrices, Software Vulnerability Analysis, and Software & Firmware Assurance


Salary Range: $188,200.00 - $282,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
