Responsibilities
Join our team as an Information Systems Security Engineering (ISSE) Specialist supporting critical national security missions. In this role, you will provide comprehensive system security engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of U.S. Navy systems and networks. You'll implement core security engineering principles into information systems architecture and support the complete cybersecurity lifecycle.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

USD $70,000.00 - USD $109,375.00 /Yr.

You'll implement core security engineering principles into information systems architecture and support the complete cybersecurity lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Security Engineering
- Design, implement, test, and field secure systems, networks, and architectures
- Install and configure secure hardware and software systems
- Maintain technological infrastructure and conduct regular security audits
- Ensure systems remain current with security patches
- Compliance & Assessment
- Assess and strengthen system compliance against NIST, DoD, and Navy security requirements
- Implement NIST 800-53 controls and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Conduct certification and testing according to Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Identify security deficiencies and recommend risk mitigation strategies
- Documentation & Process Management
- Develop technical publications including System Security Plans, Security Concepts of Operations, and Program Protection Plans
- Create authorization boundary and architecture diagrams
- Maintain hardware and software inventories
- Document configuration and security processes
- Vulnerability Management
- Manage POA&M entries and track vulnerability resolution
- Update eMass artifacts and supporting evidence
- Administer patches using tools like Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
- Conduct USN Cybersecurity Pre-Installation Checkout procedures

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Systems Security Engineering, Computer Science, or cyber-related field with 1+ years of cybersecurity experience. Associates or High School DIploma and 5+ years of technical IT experience in Cybersecurity/Engineering will be considered.
Technical Expertise
- Experience with modern computing platforms and technologies
- Knowledge of networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing
- Proficiency with vulnerability assessment tools (ACAS, HBSS, DISA SCAP/STIGs)
Certifications & Clearance
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent: CSSLP, ECSP, CCNA, GSEC, SSCP)
- Ability to obtain OS certification (preferred: MD102 or AZ104) within 180 days
- Active government security clearance or ability to obtain upon position acceptance
- REAL ID compliant identification
- Valid US passport or ability to obtain upon position acceptance
- This position requires onsite work at Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) for at least 50% of time
- 10% travel required
- US citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing/interpreting security architectures and data flow diagrams
- Ability to identify non-compliance risks and propose solutions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking abilities with high-quality deliverables
- Experience with vulnerability management and security patches
- Knowledge of industrial control systems
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and VxWorks operating systems
