Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist
The Opportunity:

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health ( ARPA-H ) , helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You will work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You'll leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You'll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assist with the management of current programs, and facilitate commer cia lization of successfully developed technologies.
You'll serve as an Intergovernmental Affairs Spe cia list helping clients to develop stakeholder management strategies, research non-Health and Human Services ( HHS ) government agencies, identify key programs that relate to ARPA-H, and draft reports on e nga gements. You will be responsible for effective communications, managing business processes, and building coalitions and diplomacy within the federal space for ARPA-H's legislative affairs department. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving skill will enable the mission's success. This position is a hybrid role with Booz Allen. The candidate is expected to work onsite at a Booz Allen or client facility 20-50% of the time, as needed.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. What You'll Work On:
- Research, identify, and track non-HHS funded programs such as NSF, DARPA, ARPA-E, ARPA-I, NIST, and DOE.
- C ond uct cross-walks with ARPA-H programs or as new programs are launched to identify agency outreach targets.
- Identify key programs in relation to ARPA-H programs and detailed leadership points of contact within each of the agencies or programs.
- Capture data into Intergovernmental tracking systems.
- Create and maintain a dashboard of non-HHS interagency e nga gements and programs.
- Draft reports on our e nga gement or on potential opportunities as required.
- Create presentations tailored to agency or divisions.
- Support outreach and scheduling with agency contacts.
- Interact with clients, government offi cia ls, and other executives in various sectors.

You Have:
- 3+ years of experience identifying government funding or grants opportunities
- 3+ years of experience working with or in the federal government or e nga gement with the executive branch
- 3+ years of experience in outreach and e nga gement with government or corporate SMEs and leadership
- Experience in legislative affairs, policy , or lobbying
- Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15
- Experience in using Micro sof t Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced start-up environment
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a Political Science field
Nice If You Have:
- 5+ years of experience identifying government funding or grants opportunities
- 5+ years of experience working with or in the federal government or e nga gement with the executive branch
- 5+ years of experience in outreach and e nga gement with government or corporate SMEs and leadership
- 2+ years of experience in an ARPA setting, including DARPA, ARPA-E, or IARPA
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively
- Ability to pay strict attention to details and maintain diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables
- Possession of excellent communication, research, and writing skills
