An innovative and fast-growing organization supporting national security missions is seeking a versatile Maritime Technician. This role involves maintaining, deploying, and recovering maritime sensing systems and buoys in Lake Superior and other locations as needed. During the off-season, responsibilities shift to supporting production through mechanical and electrical fabrication. Occasional travel may be required for training or to support remote operations.

This organization develops and fields operational hardware, software, and data solutions across various levels of classification. They offer competitive compensation, stock options, excellent benefits, and generous paid time off.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose system issues in both controlled and field environments. Collaborate with engineering teams to obtain required details and improve documentation.

Maritime Operations: Organize and eventually lead deployment, maintenance, and recovery of sensing systems using small boats. A captain’s license is not required, but significant small boat handling experience is essential.

Training: Mentor new technicians and operators as the team grows. Support development of training materials for internal staff and external customers, including military personnel.

Engineering Collaboration: Provide detailed feedback on design, durability, documentation, and maintainability. Over time, serve as the central point of technician feedback to engineering teams.

Mechanical Fabrication: Assist in fabrication and assembly of mechanical components for sensor systems and marine platforms.

Electrical Fabrication: Assemble electrical components, wiring harnesses, and battery packs.
