Cybersecurity Consultant – OT Assessments & Mitigations
Location: Pentagon – 3 days remote / 2 onsite
Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible)
We’re seeking a mid-level Cybersecurity Consultant (3–5 years’ experience) to lead and support a range of cybersecurity assessments and mitigation efforts across Operational Technology (OT) environments for a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
This role focuses on Mission Assurance, Energy and Cyber Resilience Readiness Exercises (ERRE/CRRE), and Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI). You’ll conduct risk-based assessments, develop mitigation plans, and embed OT cyber scenarios into DoD wargames and exercises—all while strengthening the overall cyber resilience of mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee execution of ERRE, CRRE, DCI, and Mission Assurance assessments
• Develop targeted mitigation and recovery strategies based on findings
• Design and integrate OT cyber impact scenarios into wargames and exercises
• Create technical reports, risk dashboards, and executive-level briefings
• Facilitate workshops with cross-functional stakeholders to drive improvement.
3 – 5 years of experience with the following:
• RMF-based assessments and critical infrastructure risk evaluations
• Direct involvement with ERRE, CRRE, and DCI assessments
• Mission assurance testing for cyber-to-mission impact
• Mitigation planning and execution tracking
• DoD wargame/exercise development (with OT cyber injects)
• Strong stakeholder communication and analytical reporting skills
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with automated tools (e.g., Nessus, SCAP), eMASS, or GRC platforms
• Experience with digital-twin modeling, data visualization (Splunk, ELK, PowerBI)
• Understanding of OT cyber risk in cloud/edge platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Progress toward certifications like CISSP, GICSP, or CISM
Compensation:
W2 Hourly rate: $64 - $69 Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, location, and certifications, and are subject to change at any time.
