Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Senior Data Engineer:
- Develop and maintain efficient Java scripts for data analysis, automation, and potentially data warehousing
- Utilize ETL tools, such as Informatica, for data management
- Perform tuning on large datasets in Oracle databases to optimize performance
- Write scripts to automate processes in the development workflow, such as building, deploying, or managing Java applications
- Work independently with minimal guidance and direction to manage tasks and projects
- Hold a Top Secret clearance
- Possess a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience as a data engineer in a large volume enterprise system or 14+ years of experience as a data engineer in a large volume enterprise system in lieu of a degree
Required Skills for Senior Data Engineer:
- Proficiency in Java programming and ETL tools, particularly Informatica
- Experience with CI/CD practices to automate builds, testing, and deployments
- Ability to write PL or SQL scripts and stored procedures for data manipulation, parsing, and processing within Oracle databases
- Experience working in a complex enterprise environment
- Knowledge of Oracle database concepts, including partitioning for very large databases (VLDBs)
