IT Telephony Specialist
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI security clearance (at time of application)
Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 DOE
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Telephony Specialist to provide enterprise-level voice infrastructure and telecommunications support across classified and unclassified networks. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VoIP and legacy systems in secure environments and will play a critical role in supporting mission-essential communications.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise IP telephony solutions (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Unity)
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for VoIP, analog lines, voice gateways, voicemail, and E911 systems
• Coordinate and provision voice/data circuits and telephony hardware (phones, headsets, etc.)
• Interface with internal stakeholders, service providers, and end-users to ensure service availability and uptime
• Manage call routing plans, dial plans, hunt groups, voicemail policies, and softphones
• Monitor voice network performance and conduct root-cause analysis of telephony incidents
• Assist with infrastructure modernization, migration, and integration projects
• Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and applicable compliance requirements
• Maintain inventory and documentation for telecom systems, devices, and configurations
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT/telecommunications with a focus on VoIP systems
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity, and Jabber
• Proficiency with SIP, MGCP, H.323, and PSTN configurations
• Familiarity with secure voice/data communication systems
• Working knowledge of E911, voice security, and telecom infrastructure best practices
• Strong customer service and multi-site user support skills
• Proficient in documentation, ticketing, and change control processes
Preferred Qualifications
• Cisco CCNA Collaboration or equivalent certification
• Experience with secure voice networks and telecom provisioning
• Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 compliance standards
• Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
