Position Overview

RMGS, Inc. is currently recruiting a Curriculum Advisor for a tactical medic course of instruction (remote with travel). This position is contingent upon contract award.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Travel to the customer site once per quarter for a period of two weeks per visit
  • Be available for additional phone/virtual subject matter expertise medical consultation upon request for a period not to exceed 12 hours a month
  • Assist in the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum for assigned courses to determine the need for new or revised curricula
  • Determine critical clinical and operational content of instruction based on customer needs, medical expertise, and input from others
  • Evaluate program for the accomplishment of course objectives, quality of content, and compatibility with operational requirements and objectives
  • Recommend implementation of course design, changes, and improvements
  • Use feedback from current and former students and training coordinators to assist in program evaluation
  • Contribute to the development of program-specific or new knowledge base/experience
  • Provide training analysis and instructional support for all trauma and emergency medical simulation devices and training aids
  • Evaluate training aids and provide recommendations for upgrades or changes
  • Abide by the following Naval Instructions: OPNAVINST 5100.19 NAVY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PROGRAM MANUAL FOR FORCES AFLOAT; OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series; and 4790.4 OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT
  • Assist with coordinating the training program with all assigned personnel and maintain instructor-training records


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Medical doctorate with specialty in Emergency Medicine
  • At least 15 years of experience as an Emergency Medicine Doctor
  • Board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Emergency Medicine Physician working within the military
  • At least 4 years of experience serving on the Joint Trauma System Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care
  • Experience in the practice of austere medicine and expeditionary medicine
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the following naval instructions: OPNAVINST 5100.19, NAVY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PROGRAM MANUAL FOR FORCES AFLOAT and 4790.4 OPNAVINST 3500.39 Series, OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT
  • Current driver's license
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Fluent in English
