Human Systems Engineer

Our work depends on a Human Systems Engineer joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities.

As a Human Systems Engineer supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Leads and conducts studies in human/machine interaction, equipment/facilities design, environmental design, and human performance assessment
• Develops ergonomic design concepts with user interface design considerations
• Responsible for finalizing project deliverables and writing of technical reports
• Designs experiments and usability testing
• Performs complex data collection and analysis of behavioral data
• Conducts human factors applied research in the development of new products
• Participates in overall project management
• May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals
• May serve as a team or task lead
• Leverages advanced knowledge of human cognition, including serial and parallel processing, visual perception, allocation and reaction time
• Uses advanced knowledge in experimental design and statistical analysis
• Effectively applies administrative organizational skills
• Communicates effectively

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• BA/BS and 6+ years of relevant experience (or 10+ years of experience without a degree)
• A US DoD Secret security clearance is required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of the larger GDIT Navy and Marine Corps Sector.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
