General Qualifications
Must hold an active Secret Clearance
Must provide associated tools to complete tasks (Socket set, driver set, screw driver set, hammer, tape measure, drywall saw, level, gopher poles, a 6ft or larger ladder, fish tape, cable locating device, cable prepping hand tools)
DoD and/or Air Force experience preferred
Experienced in Telecommunications OSP and ISP (inside plant) infrastructure design, and construction
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree with 2+ years basic technical telecommunications experience OR 4+ years technical experience with telecommunications products and service

Key Deliverables
Provide end-to-end solutions, from the installation, maintenance, reconstitution, removal, and modification of copper core and fiber optic cable systems to antenna systems that support Tyndall AFB.
Provide technical advice; relate user requirements to existing technology ranging from cabling installation and termination at the Outside Plant demarcation point to conducting preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) on manholes containing communications cables and/or related infrastructure.
Draw upon technical data, task lists, and associated instructions to provide technical expertise supporting the ability to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot copper core and fiber optic cable systems and to swiftly identify/address signal deterioration issues that could adversely impact audio, video, digital, and data transmission.
Serve as an implementation program specialist and deploy, sustain, troubleshoot, monitor, and repair telecommunications programs and/or systems.
Serve as an advisor to provide quality data and voice cabling and switching installation and management to all users and facilities (internal and external) throughout the installation.
Analyze and apply specialized communication methods and analytical techniques involving telecommunication systems (e.g., systems compatibility, circuits, switches, distribution, satellite linkages, and networking) and troubleshoot analog and digital multiplexing equipment.
Use test equipment to identify, troubleshoot, and certify copper conductors and optic fibers in cables.
Assist other communication squadron sections with layer one circuit creation, tagging, and testing.
Install, maintain, and mark paths of buried cable systems by integrating with CE during the coordination of the AF Form 103 approval process to protect connectivity and degrading systems from damage during excavations.

Knowledge
Knowledge of operational and performance characteristics of telecommunications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to inspect, repair, and maintain in accordance with operational requirements.
Knowledge of rules for electric facilities, and construction covered by ANSI /TIA568
Knowledge of basic electronics theory and operating principles, the application of existing and planned technology to communications requirements, and equipment interoperability and compatibility.
Skills
