This position requires a self starter who understands C4I shipboard installations with the ability to work with minimum supervision and be a team player. This position requires strong communication and verbal skills for communicating with ship forces, vendors and peers. Looking for a candidate who can work under pressure, multi-task, and work in fast paced environment. Duties will include providing support services for East Coast shipboard installations in the areas of scheduling, status reporting, de-conflicting converging efforts of other agencies and contractors other than SPAWAR. Review and red line installation drawings. Position may require OSIC responsibilities when 2nd or 3rd shift is required. Position may require occasional reporting for 2nd or 3rd shift.
The candidate will provide the SPAWAR AIT Manager with on-site installation management over site of shipyard and other installation contractors and tradesmen. Candidate liaisons between the SPAWAR OSIC and the SPAWAR AIT Manager to adjudicate issues for workflow, installation drawings LARS for shipyard and Planning Yards. Attends Production Meetings, develops and maintains installation POA&Ms. Makes decisions on the deck-plates to de-conflict issues that slow production. Makes recommendations for red-line drawings and develops LARS.
Familiar with install best practices and procedures with Blown Optical Fiber (BOF) and Fiber Optic Cable Plant (FOCP). Ability to interpret shipboard FOCP drawings and mitigate issues arising from various issues encountered with FOCP installs a plus. General knowledge of shipboard communication and LAN systems. Ability to read communication system installation drawings, and cable run sheets. Familiar with NAVSEA TECH SPEC 9090-310 (X). Certifications as a Shipyard Competent Person, Electrical Connector Fabrication, Fiber Optic Fabrication. Knowledge of HVAC systems as the relate to C4ISR support systems.
