Title:  Youth Care Worker

Limited Duration: Intermittent, Temporary, Seasonal/On-Call

Location: Nationwide, to include CA, TX, AZ, NM, FL, etc.

Travel:  Optional, Up to 100%

Schedule: Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

MVM, Inc. – a leading provider of professional, technical, administrative, and program management support services to the Federal Government – is creating a pipeline of Youth Care Workers that would be interested in provisional commitment projects anywhere in the US with other highly capable team members tasked with providing care to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in a limited duration shelter dependent on the request from The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Youth Care Workers provide direct supervision of children ages 13 to 17 who have been placed in temporary shelter care by ORR. Youth Care Workers accompany the children during most aspects of daily shelter life and engage them in a culturally-sensitive manner to ensure a comfortable environment. Youth Care Workers also document and report any items as mandated by ORR policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·         Maintain direct line-of-sight of UC at all times.

·         Interact with children in an appropriate manner, including playing games or during recreational time.

·         Assist during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another.

·         Maintain the case file and ORR database in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements: 

·         21 years of age or older

·         High School diploma or equivalent

·         Bilingual in Spanish and English

·         Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

·         Pass fingerprint-based criminal background check

·         Pass Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check

Deployment-Based Travel:

Depending on the shelter location requested by ORR, MVM, Inc. may offer extended travel. Extended travel typically requires a commitment of a minimum of 30 to 90 days. Travel expenses will be paid according to Federal Travel Regulations. Locations may include, but are not limited to, New Mexico, California, Texas, and Arizona.
