In anticipation of a contract award, MVM, Inc. is looking for highly-motivated Lead Youth Care Workers (LYCW) to be part of a highly capable team to run a shelter and all surrounding operations for the temporary care and transport of unaccompanied children (UC). The Lead Youth Care Worker oversees a group of 8 YCW and ensures continuity and compliance with SOPs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Supervise and visually monitor 8 assigned Youth Care Workers via frequent rounds and spot checks.
Ensure proper Youth Care Worker staff-to-UC ratio is maintained at all times.
Conduct visual spot checks of all common areas (dormitories, recreational spaces, etc.)
Track inventory of UC clothing on a daily basis to ensure proper resources allocation to each UC.
High school diploma required; Bachelorâs degree in relevant field preferred.
At least 21 years or older.
Two (2) or more yearsâ experience working directly with children in a supervisory role preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
âMust be able to travel for extended periods of time (up to 100%).
Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite) and knowledge of common office equipment.
Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills.
Able to multitask and be an effective and engaged team builder.
Resolve issues as they arise in an appropriate manner with little or no supervision from upper management.
