Cyber Systems Engineer 2 - Unix/Linux

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Unix/Linux Engineer to join our high-performing team in Columbus, OH. Working in a fast paced, agile, cutting edge technology Department of Defense (DoD) environment, the Engineer will secure and optimize the performance of several Hadoop Clusters spread over several hundred Linux servers using RedHat Enterprise Linux, Cloudera Hadoop v5 clusters, and a host of analytics. * Maintain current architecture and complete weekly maintenance cycles.
* Work with remote systems and team members to ensure availability of all systems.
* Monitor storage system health and performance utilizing monitoring tools, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
* Configure, install, and maintain new deployments and patches.
* Harden Linux servers to meet DoD STiG requirements. Some weekend work may be required. Will require working one evening per week for maintenance, currently on Wednesday. Schedule is flexible to accommodate maintenance activities. The selected candidate must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher certification. Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a related field plus 0 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree in a related field plus 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 total years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
* UNIX/Linux command line and shell scripting experience.
* Experience managing software patching, system update procedures and documentation.
* Proficiency with Operating Systems Administration and Hardware support for various types of systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability.
* Ability to work afternoon and evening for maintenance periods once a week.
* Current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance or higher.
* Current DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Training/experience developing an installation plan for hardware/software, and seeing it to completion.
* Experience implementing security measures; proficiency and knowledge in DoD STiG requirements for Linux Systems preferred.
* Experience hosting and administering large data storage clusters to a variety of customers and hardware specifications.
* Understanding and ability to implement updates and patches using Puppet and Salt.
* Python, Java, Awk, Sed, and Ruby scripting.
