Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree

Minimum Experience: 6 years



• Responsible for maintaining AWS cloud environments; provisioning, testing, and SW deployments. Monitors cloud operational performance and creates alerts to prevent issues

•Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of cloud computing concepts such as virtualization, infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service, elastic compute, and auto scale. Assists users with integration into DevOps tool set.

• Familiar with DevOps tools including Jenkins, Nexus/Artifactory, Git Source Code Repository. Possesses good analytical and creative problem solving skills for software design, creation, and testing.

• Familiar with networking concepts: VPN, routing, protocols, CDN. Able to work independently and as part of a team to resolve complex issues. Working knowledge of the following: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, UDP, LDAP, and SSH.

Job Summary
The cloud engineer is responsible for managing, monitoring and deploying highly available, highly scalable applications for one or more environments/systems and works as a member of the Agile/Scrum team daily for the maintenance, upkeep and integrity of these environments. Provide expertise in the use of Cloud reference architectures and solutions to support software development in a DevOps environment. Leverage the applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field and apply general knowledge of other related disciplines. Support technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Provide analysis for approach to solutions. Work closely with other engineering teams.

Responsibilities & Duties
• Architect and implement deployment solutions for various projects and deployment environments
• Provide guidance and expertise on DevOps and cloud technologies to development teams and customers
• Design and implement full-stack, in-house solutions to streamline the process of deploying and monitoring applications
• Be devoted to knowing the latest trends and solutions to DevOps problems
• Leverage open-source code to compliment in-house solutions
• Respond to customer requests and incidents

Qualifications & Skills
• Experience with working in DoD, IC, or commercial cloud environment
• Experience with multiple operating systems, including Linux, and Windows
• Experience in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments, including following stack traces back to code to determine root cause analysis
• Experience with running Internet facing or auto-deployed environments while adhering to service level agreements
• Experience in working with Cloud Service Providers, including: Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud (certification a plus)
• Agile Development, Cloud systems, or ITIL related Certifications a plus
• Experience with Provisioning tools (e.g., Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Pivotal Cloud Foundry
• Experience with Continuous Integration toolsets (e.g., Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with Source Control Management tools (e.g., Github, etc.)
