DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

If so, we have a place for you in the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces (ISR/SOF) Directorate, at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as a Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) Radar Manufacturing Engineer Senior.
You'll have considerable responsibilities and duties to include:
Providing guidance and expertise for radar technology and operation to include, but not be limited to, Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) antennas, receiver/exciter electronics and processing hardware and software.
Applying knowledge of the manufacturing processes for transmit/receive modules, Radio Frequency (RF) electronics and antenna structures as well as electronic chassis in an aircraft environment.
Working with the program office and radar manufacturer to ensure the performance of the radar meets USAF operator requirements as well as satisfying logistics availability, maintainability and supply chain management.
Applying knowledge of radar modes including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image formation, moving target indication, specialized waveforms, X-band and Ku-band frequencies.
Translating DoD user requirements into system requirements which will be used by the weapon system contractor to develop the system for deployment.
Assisting in performing technical/mission assessments of operational requirements, assisting in developing system concepts and perform technological/trade-off manufacturing study assessments of proposed designs.
Assisting in the areas of assessing manufacturing requirements/processes of integrated subsystem controls, environmental control, thermal management, auxiliary and emergency power, mechanical systems and fire/overheat protection systems.
Assisting in drafting project documentation e.g. Statement of Objectives (SOOs) Statements of Work (SOWs) and others.
Reviewing and analyzing technical proposals or modifications for manufacturing cos and feasibility and end product system compatibility as well as various specifications.
Supporting and conducting engineering performance, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical/schedule risk assessment and scheduling trade-off studies based on manufacturer's production plans.
Helping evaluate the Integrated Master Plan (IMS), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) assist in the support the evaluation of IMP, IMS and System Engineering Detailed Schedule (SEDS) engineering cost estimates.
Evaluating Systems Test Plans (STPs) and support Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) development.
Assisting with sensor development and integration on manned or unmanned air vehicles in areas such as integrated subsystem controls, avionics, communications/data link integration and electrical power integration.
Master's degree and minimum of 10 years relevant experience or, a minimum of 18 years of relevant work experience plus a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for a Master's degree. A minimum of four (4) years of any experience must have been performed on Department of Defense (DoD) programs/projects. Experience and degree requirements must be in a field relevant to their functional area.
Broad working knowledge of the principles, criteria, and procedures of the DOD, to include DOD 5000.01 and DOD 5000.02 as well as the policies and processes of USAF, HQ AFMC, AFLCMC Engineering Directorate, ISR & SOF Directorate, and the ISR Sensors Division level.
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes for transmit/receive modules, RF electronics and antenna structures as well as electronic chassis in an aircraft environment is required.
Knowledge of radar modes including SAR image formation, moving target indication and specialized waveforms.
Experienced in X-band and Ku-band frequencies.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED.
