Northrop Grumman is seeking several Software Engineers. This position will be located in our Technology Services Sector in Dahlgren, Virginia. As a Professional Development Program (PDP) candidate, you will participate in a three year rotational training program to develop competencies in a variety of Software Engineering specializations. You'll participate in assignments that will leverage related degrees and disciplines. In this rotation, we are seeking Software Engineers to support our Dahlgren team with the following responsibilities:
* Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
* Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
* Determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output
* requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
* Develop software on diverse platforms including Unix, Linux and Windows based operating systems
* Utilize configuration management tools, database applications and related software development tools
* Understand of the software development lifecycle and roles within each phase to include a variety of programming and scripting languages, and complex software design principles
* Experience in developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software that contain logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems. PDP rotations offer the opportunity to experience a variety of job assignments before making a commitment to a particular position. The assignments will provide valuable experiences that will broaden the participant's knowledge of the business and help guide each individual in obtaining his/her career goals. The program will support the individual's growth through training, skill development, and networking opportunities. This program gives its participants the ability to choose their assignments from a variety of departments based on their skills, areas of interest, and availability.


Basic Qualifications:
* Completion of a Bachelor's degree Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
* US citizenship required
* Experience in software engineering, including familiarity in C, C++, Java
* Interim Secret Clearance
