Description: Position will work on an Engineering, Development and Sustainment program providing software and hardware engineering support to modernize and sustain a dedicated satellite operations center at Kirtland Air Force Base. The position is a full time exempt position.
Position Requirements: Experience in satellite ground system communication development and engineering and Satellite Command and Control. Both hardware and software experience is desired. Experience in maintaining technical cognizance of Ground System Enterprise (GSE) subsystem capabilities, configurations and performance; support system performance analysis and reporting. Experience with systems engineering process, design, requirements development, interface management, validation and verification
Capable of conducing test, transition, operations and sustainment activities for Ground System Enterprise.
Capable of developing and integrating new and enhanced capabilities for Ground System Enterprise.
Capable of working with Systems integration and Test Engineering groups; contributing to the completion of testing milestones with associated projects for in house and other software and hardware of a satellite command and control system. Must have understanding of test practices including nominal/off-nominal testing, boundary and negative testing. Relevant experience in Antenna Operations, RF protocols, Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and Front End Processors for Satellites (FEPs) is desired. Experience in multi security level data guards is also desired.
Demonstrated ability to identify and effectively resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner and to simultaneously work multiple issues; experience in technical project management from development to execution.
Must possess strong organization and communication skills and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines on projects. Demonstrated ability to resolve issues in an efficient, clear, and concise manner. Work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team and also independently supporting the Engineering organization.
Must possess an active security clearance.
