Job Description:  Software Dev Staff-   Software Engineer -- Modeling, Simulation & Analysis  (Contingent)

Agile Data Solutions, An ASRC Federal Subsidiary, is seeking a Software Engineer to support combat system Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis. This full-time position, located in Huntsville, Alabama, affords the successful candidate an opportunity to apply software development and analysis skills to a broad universe of real world tactical problems.

Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for software architecture/design and development of new modeling capabilities for various discrete event simulation products
  • Contribute to and use models of real-world weapons, radars, C2 systems, and communication networks
  • Integrate existing and new third-party models into the simulation framework
  • Facilitate the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Perform unit and integration testing of simulation models
  • Independently identify and address system and software defects

Basic Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field (Applied Mathematics, Systems Engineering, etc.)
  • 4+ years of experience in modeling and simulation or software engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to practice sound software engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and decompose complex problems and formulate solutions
  • Proficiency in C++ programming, third-party libraries, and OO paradigms
  • Proficiency with Python scripting
  • Experience with debugging and computer system performance analysis tools
  • Basic understanding of Monte Carlo and distributed simulation techniques
  • Ability to work in fast paced, Agile development environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, and work with stakeholders to develop solutions
  • Ability to lead small software teams in solving complex and challenging problems
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain a DOD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:


  • Proficient with Linux, C/C++, Python, and MATLAB
  • Proficient with statistical analysis software packages, such as R
  • Proficient with UML and UML modeling tools
  • Understanding of the Agile software development process
  • Understanding of basic data analytics
  • Understanding of System Modeling using SYSML
  • Active DOD Secret security clearance
