The incumbent Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for programming SMT pick and place and soldering equipment, designing tooling, and optimizing process parameters to ensure product quality.
Supports manufacturing assembly processes in the generation of travelers and routers
Develop programs for SMT pick and place equipment, develop programs for automated dispensers, monitor and optimize automated soldering processes.
Develops estimates for assembly step times on existing and new designs being introduced into the process value stream.
Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce set up times and improve line efficiencies.
Author medium to high complexity design change requests and notices
Monitor, inspect, and optimize the performance of automated assembly and soldering equipment.
Experience with value stream mapping and waste elimination strategies
Industrial or mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
3 + years programming and operating automated SMT equipment in a Defense, Automotive, or commercial environment.
Must be a US citizen who is able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
Experience or certification to IPC level 3 soldering criteria for high reliability applications.
3+ years’ experience with CAM programming systems.
Experience with automated optical inspection equipment.
