AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Deputy Manager of Security in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will serve as the Deputy Manager of Security for the Protective Force Program at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Duties include developing and maintaining security-related orders, policies, and security plans for a Category II nuclear facility in compliance with DOE Order 473.3A, Protection Program Operations and other applicable regulations. Will provide leadership and technical oversight of the 24/7 security operations and staff. Develops programmatic and tactical methods to identify, assess, prevent, and respond to internal or external threats and emergencies. Maintain security-related equipment and systems in the security operations center. Responsible for exercising administrative and technical direction over the work of subordinate supervisors, professional and technical employees with accountability to higher levels of management. Establish security program goals, priorities, and major work schedules. Develop cost and budget analyses and forecasts. Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization. Must be willing to be on-call. Understand and embrace nuclear safety culture principles. Other duties as directed by responsible manager.
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent military, DOE/NSSA security, training and experience.
Ten (10) years of related professional experience in physical security.
Three (3) years of experience managing/supervising more than a staff of 10 professionals.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.
Must pass the Basic Security Police Officer Training Course, physical fitness test and maintain qualifications as a uniformed Protective Force Supervisor.
Must be able to demonstrate effective oral, analytical, written, and communications skills. Must have practical experience and be proficient in software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Prefer skills and knowledge in the management of security programmatic areas, human capital, budgets, and emergency response facilities and equipment.
Previous WIPP experience is preferred.
