Data Systems Analysts, Inc. has an opening for a Cloud Systems Engineer. This position is located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD supporting the DoD wide social business platform, milSuite. Must have experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7 (RHEL) / UNIX Operating Systems. Ability to configure and manage operating system, install patches, update system, and deploy services. Experience in virtualization with VMware, and ability to apply system security controls and DISA STIGs is required. Cloud experience with vCloud Director, and networking using F5 Load Balancers a plus. Technical knowledge of common network protocol/services, hardware devices, and system components is required.

Job Description

Provide professional and technical services as a Linux System Administrator (SA). Duties include, but are not limited to the following system administration duties:
•Domain Name Service (DNS) administration
•User account maintenance and access permissions
•Network Information Services management
•Hardware installs and removals
•Operating System installs and upgrades
•Application support for various COTS and GOTS software packages
•The applicant will also be required to perform site-specific configuration requirements, documentation of system installations, and the periodic generation of system performance and utilization summaries
•The applicant must have significant troubleshooting skills, must be able to diagnose system problems, coordinate with a help desk, and monitor systems to ensure optimal performance
•Support the automation of provisioning of IT resources in the cloud including network, compute, storage, backup, identity and access management, audit and other required components using cloud management systems
•Prepare technical papers, assessments, and implementation plans in response to specific engineering requirements that include processes and procedures that support deployment and maintenance of software and hardware intensive systems

Qualifications
•Professional experience supporting technology delivery to DoD organizations as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator
•3 to 5 years Linux administration and engineering experience, specifically RedHat Linux ES 6 or 7
•Prior experience supporting continuous integration requirements using cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) preferred
•Proven ability to participate in the analysis of IT and business issues
•Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must
•Well versed in internet architectures, including web, application, and database components such as Apache, memcache, MySQL
•Familiarity with virtualization and cloud platforms, especially VMware
•Familiarity with continuous deployment methodology and other common DevOps tools including Git, and configuration tools such as Puppet
•Medium level scripting skills in languages such as Bash, PHP, etc.
•Understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering (specifically IPtables)
•Experience with application load balancing solutions for scaling and High Availability
•CompTIA Security+ certification preferred and required within 3 months of employment

Required Education and Clearance
B.S. in information systems related major preferred
MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE. SCI ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED. IT LEVEL I CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
