Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager 2 in its Digital Signal Processing Engineering department at the Cincinnati, OH facility. The selected candidate will report to the Manager of ISR Engineering, and will also support Sector, Division, and Business Unit engineering initiatives as required. The position involves technical management and engineering program management. The candidate should have a broad, diverse background in program management, and technical management, as well as a working knowledge of the company's capabilities, products and processes. The candidate should have the leadership skills to develop, organize and execute engineering activities, and to assess technical talent. The candidate should have strong analytical, creative and problem-solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; ability to operate independently with limited supervision and feedback; and the ability to collaborate in order to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, engineering, program managers, and peers in business areas. Responsible for managing a group of 15-20 engineers and participating directly in activities that include:
* Program start-up, verification and validation, and issue resolution on program
* Monthly project reviews
* Proposal development and new business activities
* Internal Research and Development project management
* Risk mitigation
* Oversee all technical training in coordination with organization's training group.
* Ensure engineering organization is organized, trained and equipped to meet present and future requirement

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering
* 8+ years of experience with electrical hardware and/or DSP concepts
* Experience in Technical Management / Engineering Program Management
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

* MS, MBA, or other advanced degree
* Experience in functional management at the department level or site level
* Experience leading proposal and new business activities
* Experience mentoring program managers and technical leaders
* Demonstrated leadership skills in a challenging work environment
