This position is located in the AFLCMC Armament Directorate Advanced Programs Division at Eglin AFB FL, whose mission is to develop, test, acquire, integrate, and support high impact special program technologies and capabilities to meet warfighter requirements. Mission areas include air to air and air to ground technologies, hard target defeat, asymmetric and directed energy weapons, and targeting and battle damage assessment.
* Provide technical support to developing and revising host aircraft-to-store interface design and documentation. * Oversee, from the technical perspective, defense contractor efforts supporting the development and review of host aircraft-to-store interface control documents (ICDs) in Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) forums. * Refine requirements and participate in the design review process for weapons systems to include test assets. * Lead the interface development process for test assets and their integration into lab, test bench or aircraft test systems with which they will interface. * Participate in the development of test objectives and test plans as they relate to weapon-to-aircraft integration and the integration of the test assets. * Coordinate and host large technical meetings to accomplish the tasks listed. * Develop Verification and Validation and Test and Evaluation strategies and documentation (e.g. Test and Evaluation Master Plan) to verify/validate Armament Systems against performance requirements. * Requires coordination of munitions handling, loading, storage, checkout, transportation, and electronic combat/weapon/aircraft compatibility issues, and Statistical Methods/Design of Experiments (DOE). * Verification tasks including analysis of resultant weapons fly-out data to analyze accuracy of modeling and simulation results. * Development of realistic and accurate target presentations for use in verification and validation of weapon system effects. * Support of tests at OCONUS locations to include potential handling of sensitive material.
* Current (updated within six years) Secret clearance * Senior MS with 15+ years' experience; PHD with 5 + years of experience * Understanding of systems engineering-based processes used to develop, document and maintain host aircraft-to-store interfaces * Experience in the system requirements development and analysis process * Extensive experience in the area of weapon or store to aircraft integration * In-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 is required * Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Temporary travel required * Ability to rent/operate rental cars while on travel * Ability to work flexible and varied hours
