GCS Technician - Cannon AFB

Applicant requires good verbal and written communication skills with technical personnel and non-technical end users. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May occasionally work alone and may occasionally direct the work of others and will typically report to a shift lead or project lead. Good customer service skills are a must and shift work required to support 24/7 operations, Candidate may be required to interface with the customer.

This position supports the daily operations of GCS’s networked with an Air Force RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) Operations Center. Primary responsibility is to provide 24/7/365 organizational level maintenance tasks specified in AF Technical Orders (TO), pre and post-flight system configuration. Also maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair mission specific equipment such as subsystems, auxiliary communications and computer interface equipment within the Predator/Reaper Ground Control Stations. Applicant must be able to handle unusual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance from others. Ensure all maintenance tasks and functions are accomplished in accordance with (IAW) Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-101, Aircraft _ampersand Equipment Maintenance Management and documented accordingly. Responsible for maintenance data documentation and aircrew debriefing as required and possibly provide daily equipment status, updates and required maintenance actions. Coordinate maintenance during downtimes or when mission impact is the lowest. Ensure all required parts for repairs are ordered and tracked. Complete and/or sign Exceptional/Conditional Releases IAW TO 00-20-1. Ensure all maintenance actions are documented IAW TOs and correctly entered into IMDS. Must track all pilot-reported discrepancies in IMDS and inform aircrew of corrective actions taken upon request.
