Program: The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Family of Vehicles (FoV) are armored vehicles with a blast resistant underbody designed to protect the crew from mine blasts, fragmentary and direct weapons fire. USI provides on-site maintenance support services of the MRAP Egress Trainer (MET). Maintenance support consist of completing regular schedule maintenance, perform corrective maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems for several Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Egress Trainers (MET) model Cougar and M-ATV located in Yorktown, VA, Gulfport, MS, Fort Jackson, SC, Imperial Beach, CA and Port Hueneme, CA.

Job Description:

The maintenance technician must must have a proven maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and technical experience and background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance, and be able to use common tools. Maintenance technician shall provide maintenance (Corrective and Preventative) and material support in accordance with the technical maintenance manuals necessary to maintain the MET trainer in an operable condition. The maintenance technician shall be qualified in electronic systems troubleshooting and operation. At a minimum shall be qualified as an Electronics Technician II. The maintenance technician shall be qualified in the operation and maintenance of the MET training device and will work independently and be able to access and troubleshoot problems on the spot. Duties, tasks and responsibilities of the maintenance technicians shall include but are not limited to providing assistance in: inventory control of all spare parts and maintenance schedules of all MET's; provide logistics coordination and liaison to support fielded systems and provide on call services as required. The skill level of contractor shall be current and consistent with the technologies of the MET models Cougar and M-ATV.

Minimum Requirements:

Education requirements: High School Diploma

Required Experience: Training acquired through formal apprenticeship or specialized military maintenance training. Four (4) or more years of military vehicle mechanic experience or four (4) or more years of proven maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, and technical experience, to include industrial manufacturing and commercial or military maintenance and be able to use common tools, Must be proficient and familiar with military maintenance procedures. Examples of related equipment are construction, mining, or farm equipment such as dozers or tractors; or military heavy equipment such as the MRAP vehicle and its variants, or tanks. Experience in Ground Support Equipment (AGE / GSE) repair is also desirable.

Desired: USMC formal schools training, MRAP University training.

Additional Requirement: Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills and must also have time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Overtime may be required. Travel may be required flexibility is key. Physical effort and dexterity is required, lifting up to 75 pounds including service-related tools
