Job Summary

The Language Analyst shall have demonstrated expertise in the particular foreign language skill needed to fulfill the assigned tasks.
Must have a documented Kanuri language proficiency scores of 3/3 or better. Native speakers must also have documented proficiency scores in English.

Must be receptive to working irregular hours as required by mission.

The individual will also have reporting experience voice and graphic translations, identifying relevant, reportable information of foreign intelligence value.

Familiarity with Microsoft Word and other computer software is a must, as is experience with customer-specific tools.

As a member of a growing team of analysts, the individual selected will be responsible for identifying and maintaining information that furthers the goals and objectives of the team and its mission. The individual must be fully capable of using and learning computer-based technologies to aid in the discovery and development of communications networks used by Foreign Intelligence targets. End-Product reporting experience is required.

Language analyst responsibilities will include processing Kanuri language material both orally and written, generating reports predicated on Kanuri language material and fused with information obtained from other sources.

Research and reports will be required on a variety of subjects as they relate to crimes or threats. Knowledge of existing computer based technologies for target development, automated report generation, and language processing is required.

Ability to accurately render a transcript or translation into standard understandable American English
Ability to accurately transcribe voice intercepts
Achieve a proficiency equivalent to level 3/3 (listening/reading) as defined by the ILR or native-level speakers w/ level 3 voice proficiency

Minimum Requirements

Must have a current active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Polygraph (Polygraph must be valid within the last 4 years).

Must have a documented Kanuri language proficiency scores of 3/3 or better. Native speakers must also have documented proficiency scores in English.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree from a US institution.
* Individuals with a working knowledge of other regional languages will be given preference. Strong regional knowledge, history, culture, economic, religions, industries, current events and awareness of or familiarity with the state of a region's criminal activity is also a plus.
