Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking qualified individuals to research solutions for and to maintain shore-based submarine trainer facilities. Qualified applicants should be capable of conducting research and engineering solutions for complex hardware configurations including Cisco Switch/Router Configurations, Video Matrix Switches, and COTs Rackmount servers. Qualified candidates will analyze specific hardware configurations and propose replacement solutions for end-of-life hardware. Qualified applicants should be capable of independently troubleshooting hardware related issues using Linux and diagnostic and monitor tools to identify system problems. Qualified applicants who maintain this complex hardware set will propose process improvement to reduce overall maintenance requirements by working with the design team and manufacturers. The ability to understand both hardware and software requirements is essential in order to investigate alternatives for meeting these requirements. Specific experience elements sought are further described below.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: BS in Engineering and two years experience or high school diploma with six years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have experience with Linux (Redhat Linux Enterprise 4) Must have experience with Windows XP Must have extensive hardware expertise Must have experience with PC / Intel Servers Must have experience with Network Switches Must have eperience with APC Infrastruxure Must have the ability to read and interpret site drawings and diagrams
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with HP-UX and Solaris a plus Linux and Cisco Certifications is desirable Navy Tactical Lan experience is a plus Navy Sonar experience is a plus
