Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Charlottesville, VA. The roles and responsibilities of this position include: Development and execution of SQL and PL/SQL scripts; Support of issue analysis and defect corrections during test events and user application execution; Maintenance of Oracle databases (creation, modifications, data updates) data on UNIX servers; Administration of Oracle databases (backup/restore, Critical Patch Updates); Occasionally providing off-hours support. UNIX shell-scripting experience is a plus. This position requires a current and active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance. This is a contingent position based upon funding.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: - Current and Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance- BS Degree and a minimum of 9 years of directly related work experience. Or, an additional 4 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Oracle databases- Willing to work off-hours/after-shift hour as requested in support of operational requirements- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills- Capable of a high level of accuracy and attention to detail- Essential qualifications include: (1) ability to quickly adapt to new situations, (2) strong commitment to a team environment, (3) willingness to learn new technologies, (4) ability to resolve and clarify requests/requirement
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration- 8 years of experience with Oracle databases- 2 years of experience with Oracle Streams- Security+ Certification- Oracle CE Certification
