Job Responsibilities o Apply technical knowledge to effectively design a systems environment for optimal performance and high availability, and taking into account other business factors. o Advanced working knowledge of AIX partitioning and virtualization technology o Subject matter expert in AIX VIO Design and Performance Monitoring o Subject matter expert in IBM pSeries (595, 570, & 550) Hardware and related technologies o Subject matter expert in Legato and IBM Tape Libraries o Engineer OS upgrades, apply/test OS patches, plan hardware upgrade and rollout o Provide system performance management and associated capacity planning. o Integrate third party applications (SAP and Oracle) into the UNIX environment o Engineer and maintain automated installation procedures for applications on UNIX platforms o Interface with quality assurance, and development personnel o Interface with vendors to resolve any issues/conflicts with any applications integration issues o Storage Area Network experience desired o Team Lead responsibilities as required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 10 Years with Bachelors; 8 Years with Masters/ B.S. Degree- Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience and certifications/Years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement. An Associate's degree is the minimum degree accepted US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a "Public Trust" clearance. o Qualifications Required [?] Total of at least 8-10 years direct experience. Overall 5+ years experience in UNIX Systems Administration, TCP/IP networking, Unix applications, with additional experience in the following: [?] Local area networks, Ethernet, Remote access communications, Backup/restore tools [?] Cluster planning and implementation [?] IBM HACMP planning and implementation [?] AIX version 5.3 experience, RS/6000 pSeries Hardware, Partitioning and virtualization experience [?] SAP, Oracle on UNIX implementation experience Candidate must be able to obtain their computing environment (CE) certification within 90 days of start.
Preferred Qualifications:
AIX 5.3 CERTIFIED IS VERY DESIRABLE This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
