Roles and Responsibilities: The Database Administrator implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. The individual conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general and reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. The administrator maintains security and integrity controls, formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization and may develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Typical Minimum Education / Experience: 10 Years with Bachelors; 8 Years with Masters/Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience/Years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement. An Associate's degree is the minimum degree accepted. US Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain and maintain a "Public Trust" clearance. 10 years experience as a DBA, with a minimum of 3 years with SAP. Experience should include the following- * Performance monitoring and tuning * Space management and planning * Planning, scheduling, and implementing database upgrades and patches * Supporting Development/Implementation environment * Supporting Production environment * Implementation and support of industry standard and DOD security and audit compliancy procedures * Oracle on UNIX and Windows DBA experience * BRtools and RMAN backup and recovery methods * Unix scripting to automate routine tasks * Oracle data guard experience * Oracle replication experience * Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously. Must be able to work well within a team environment and must be able to adapt quickly to change. Candidate must be able to obtain their computing environment (CE) certification within 90 days of start.
Preferred Qualifications: Security Clearance is a plus. This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval
