Job Title: Director of Intelligence Community Programs

Background:

Progressive Technology Federal Systems, Inc. is a privately owned, Maryland-based software and professional services company founded in 1995. PTFS currently needs a Director of Intelligence Community Programs to build new business in the Intelligence Community. PTFS is experiencing rapid growth due to market demand for PTFS’ products and services.

Position Description:
The Director of Intelligence Community Programs is an open position and will be a core member of the PTFS business development team. This person will be responsible for driving new business within the Intelligence Community market segment for PTFS.

Overarching Objectives:
Primary

•Generating Intelligence Community business in IC agencies with a particular focus on geospatial solutions.
•Creating $2+ million annualized sales per year after initial 12 month period.
•Penetrating and expanding Intelligence Community business so as to require hiring of additional sales personnel within the 24 month timeframe.
•Initiating significant PTFS Intelligence Community business in FY 2012 to set up significant revenue generation in 2013.

Secondary

•Establishing a compelling, unique identity for PTFS in the Intelligence Community geospatial market segment.
•Creating a Strategic Marketing and Business Development Plan designed to achieve PTFS’s objectives in the Intelligence Community segments.
•Creating and implementing a tactical sales execution plan (12/24/36 month rolling plan) in support of the Intelligence Community Strategic Business Plan.
•Establishing, with PTFS Corporate, achievable, yet significant growth objectives for revenue, profit, and strategic customer penetration.
•Will aggressively protect and expand the existing base of business in the Intelligence Community geospatial market.


Essential Skills:
•Solid geospatial contacts /network in IC agencies and with system integrators (Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, SAIC, etc.)
•Deep technical experience. Able to communicate with customers at highly technical level about geospatial requirements and conceptualize solutions for these challenges. Proven track record delivering sales results >$2M/year year over year for 10 + years
•Has been cleared at TS/SCI level within last five years
•Proven track record selling solutions including software
•Proven track record selling directly to agencies, not just through SI’s
•Proven ability to handle all processes of sales cycle from lead generation through closed deal (generate leads, set up meetings, demo product, articulate value proposition, build quotes, write proposals, negotiate contracts). Very good proposal writer.
•Good public speaking ability and experience in selling and demonstrating software products and solutions. Can become proficient with product demo.

Preferred Skills:
•Proven experience working for company with under $10M in revenue and helping that company move to over $20M in revenue (we may be targeting people who have worked for larger firms, but have the ability to close sales for a smaller company)
•Content management, digitization, system integration domain experience
•Knowledge of business process reengineering
•Visionary who can help customer design solutions

Required Experience:
•At least ten (10) years of business development experience working in a technical services arena, with emphasis on mission support
•At least ten (10) years experience working in the Intelligence Community
•Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or Marketing related field preferred
•Multiple 4+ year stints with previous employers
•Schooled sales professional
