Navanti has an opening for a Senior level Java / Java Script developer for their offices in Alexandria, Virginia.
Navanti is a company which specializes in professional services using social media and indigenous researchers and expert analysts to solve complex communications, development and irregular warfare challenges.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Java developer will be the lead on this project and will be responsible for taking over the development on Navanti's internal application which they plan to make available to there customers. That means that the successful candidate will need to be able to work independently and have experience developing applications for companies.
The right candidate for this position will be able to mold this application how they see fit and will have a lot of freedom to make the application there own as they will be the primary decision maker in most aspects of the development and ultimately how it comes out in the end.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
1) HTML & CSS
2) Django or Python (programming language framework)
3) JQuery (JavaScript framework used for the UI Layer)
4) MySQL
5) PHP (needed to manage and extend the MetsLayer core engine)
6) SOLR/LUCENE
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Ideally, the individual will need 10+ years of experience. A college degree is NOT required. However, if a candidate holds a formal education and degree, the education can be substitute for less than 10 years of experience.
