Position Title: Network Engineer (10 positions at 2 different levels)
Specific Job Responsibilities: This 4 year contract that is midway through the second year (not AXISS). You will be working as a Network Engineer in the Enterprise Datacenter group. This group provides CONUS maintenance for all datacenter network devices. This is a great opportunity to learn and work extensively with the new CISCO Nexus equipment and be immersed in the latest in virtualization technology. Some of the junior positions will offer a sharp individual the chance to make the jump from technician to network engineer. The more senior slots will work the harder problems and will mentor some of the junior engineers.
You will be part of a team that is expected to provide tier 2 support to all networking services within multiple enterprise datacenters around the world.
You will be working with systems administrators to assist with server virtualization and providing proper network connections to virtualized servers.
Work with the team to develop standardization for all types of switches, routers, and firewalls including Cisco (IOS and Nexus), and McAfee/Sidewinder
Supporting Cisco Nexus 5000 and 7000 datacenter switches
Working with BGP peering with network nodes outside of the datacenter
Designing ways to optimize the internal network flow of the datacenter as well as the datacenters interfaces to the WAN
Be responsible for troubleshooting the entire TCP/IP stack/OSI Model with regards to Windows/Linux servers and Cisco network equipment
You will be working daily in the HP tools suite to troubleshoot provision and optimize one of the largest production datacenter networks in the world. You will be using the HP network tools suite on a daily basis to monitor, manage, provision, and report on all network devices
You will be working on a daily basis with networks on different classification levels and the datacenter associated to those production networks
Working with Solarwinds, Opnet Ace Live, and Traffic Sentinel tools to help troubleshoot both network and virtualized server issues
Working daily doing advanced network troubleshooting on devices around the world
Position Requirements:
BS Degree and 3+ years or no degree and 8+ years working as a network engineer (BS+5 yrs or 10 yrs for more senior roles)
Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Experience Installing and Troubleshooting global production networks
Candidate must have layer 2 and layer 3 experience with Cisco IOS network equipment
Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with routers, switches, and firewalls
CCNA All positions require this certification. If you have the skills but not the certification we will send you to boot camp to earn the certification within the first 3 months of employment all at our expense.
Compensation:
Junior/Mid level positions will range $80,000 to $110,000, more senior level slots will range from $105,000 to $140,000.
Desired Skills/Education:
1 or more of the 5 following Cisco certifications; CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CCVP
Experience with the following routing protocols: OSPF, BGP
Experience with Cisco switches/routers - IOS required, NX-OS Highly Desired
Experience with VLANs, load balancers, VPNs, and ACLs
Experience with ASA and McAfee/Sidewinder firewalls and/or familiarity of Cisco ASDM and McAfee Enterprise Control Center
Experience with Foundry/Brocade network equipment
Experience with VMWare/virtualized server datacenter network technologies
Experience working with HP network tools suite (Network Automation, Network Node Manager)
