Northrop Grumman Information System is looking for a Software Engineer to develop analysis tools and support data reduction efforts in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense Support HWIL and Digital events at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center. Position is on the JRDC program at Schriever AFB, CO. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Joint National Integration Center Research and Development Contract (JRDC)..
Roles and Responsibilities: * Develop software and support related data reduction/ management activities in support of BMDS HWILground testing and digital events at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC), Colorado Springs * The applicant will be responsible for developing specialized queries and database tools that support data quality checks and data management activities * Software development opportunities for post-event analysis software associated with this position will be occurring in the future * The applicant will also develop software requirements, designs, schedules and documentation associated with the software lifecycle * The applicant will also be supporting data collection activities during event execution
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least 2 years experience * Years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree * The applicant must be experienced with MS SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL database applications, and MS Visual Basic, and C# software applications or have sufficient experience to pick up these applications quickly * The applicant must also have the ability to understand and analyze BMDS event technical data to develop and troubleshoot specialized database applications and queries * The applicant must also have the ability to coordinate with analysts and other event stakeholders to develop specialized software functional requirements, designs, schedules and associated documentation * The applicant must be customer-focused with a "can do" attitude and be able to plan and produce reliable software/documentation products within established deadlines * The applicant must be able to develop innovative software solutions * Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge of Linux operating systems, knowledge of ballistic missile defense HWIL testing, digital events or wargames, including associated message protocols such as TADIL-J, VMF, B/C-Series, etc. * Distributed interactive simulation or a specific BMDS element knowledge is beneficial This position description does not represent a current opening but may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience for positions within Northrop Grumman that frequently become available.
