Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Administrator 3. System Administrators (SA) are responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining multi-purposed computing servers as well as the information technology environment for the servers and workstations. Duties may include scripting for optimizing IT environment and server installations, project management for defining and implementing upgrades to the IT environment, supervising and training peer administrators, and serving as consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of engineering staff. System Administrators must demonstrate a blend of advanced technical skills and responsibility. Unix SAs must demonstrate aptitude commensurate with their level in the following areas: * Administration of classified Unix systems within strict security policies and procedures * Name Service design, best-practices, configuration & maintenance (NIS, LDAP, DNS) * OS installations and network configurations (Linux Red Hat 5.x, Irix6.5.x) on servers and workstations * Defining, understanding & implementing computer lab requirements * Perform technical research leading to solutions for system or software limitations * COTS SW installation, configuration and maintenance (to include first-level application support for users) * Creating accurate, detailed technical procedures & installation instructions * DIACAP accreditation of classified systems, NISPOM, and participation in security audits Additional responsibilities may be assigned commensurate with performance or due to business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Mathematics or related field or equivalent experience and the achievement of 90 credits towards satisfying the degree requirement. * Active Top Secret Clearance/SCI * 8 years experience working with and administering Unix computing systems. * Three to five years of Red Hat Linux Systems Administration experience. * Security+ certification (or equivalent)* Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously. * Must be able to work well within a team environment and able to adapt quickly to change. * Must have the ability to travel to support program as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline. * Three plus years experience working at Government installations supporting classified operational systems. * Experience with OPIR ground processing computing systems. * CISSP certification
