Systems Administrator (Location, Chantilly, VA)


As on On-Site Systems Administrator you will provide all levels; Tier 1, 2 and 3, of system administration and maintenance support to the client. Your responsibilities will include the following:

· Administer, maintain, and manage user accounts for Windows 2003/Windows 2008 R2 operating systems. Along with Windows 7/Vista/XP on the laptops/desktops.
· Install, Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot systems administration issues
· Provide network server and desktop diagnostics and problem resolution; security services including audits and threats evaluation; network virus protection; and application support
· Execute System-wide policies and procedures for hardware and software installation and maintenance.
· Oversee implementation of new system hardware and software
· Monitor the ongoing operation of a complex network environment with a large number of remote users
· Oversee configuration and installation of network equipment while making changing to the components of existing equipment for efficient operation
· Conduct testing to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards
· Review, evaluate, and fine-tune components to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network
· Ensure expedient restoration of the database for the respective network or desktop
· Deliver onsite training to user community when required
· Candidate will provide telephone, local desk side support, remote support, system management, file management and customer developed application support to the end users
· Apply technical knowledge to operate one or more technology areas (e.g. server administration, technical security management, performance management) or customer group with moderate risk/complexity
· Work with team members to resolve complex or cross-technology incidents
Qualifications:
Must Possess a TS/SCI security clearance along with CI Poly or the ability to obtain one
Must possess either an MCP certification or an Associate’s degree or higher
Must possess a minimum of one of the following government mandated certifications: A+, Security+ or CISSP
A minimum of seven years’ experience in a Systems Administrator or Helpdesk Support role, providing the highest levels of support for clients preferably in the Federal Sector
Must possess a working knowledge of one or more of the following: Active Directory application services, COMSEC processes
Strong understanding of network administration and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues (Cisco experience desired)
Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN/Juniper and Dame Ware a plus
Must be proficient in troubleshooting and resolving on-site technical problems across multiple hardware platforms such as HP and Dell brand names servers, desktops and printers. Dell or HP certification(s) a plus
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to resolve most issues independently with limited supervision
Candidate must also be able to work in team environment
Proven experience communicating technical issues with customers and technicians for problem determination and solution implementation
Ability to commute daily to Chantilly, VA and occasional travel to support client locations in Southern MD, Washington DC, and Northern VA when required
