** This is a part-time on-call position** The Electronics Engineer shall perform a variety of engineering work including design, analysis and substantiation of electrical systems and components as related to aircraft modification and integration of surveillance and communication technologies as well as avionics upgrades. Additional responsibilities include preparing electrical engineering reports, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, electrical load analysis, ground/flight test reports and other technical reports required to obtain FAA Field and STC approvals. Also involves creating engineering detail, assembly, cable/wire harness and installation/routing drawings using AutoCAD or similar software programs. Business area deals with the design, modification, integration, testing and certification of surveillance and communication technologies onto manned, special mission commercial-derivative aircraft. The candidate will maintain an active involvement in every step throughout the lifecycle of the modification, integration and airworthiness certification process once a project is initiated

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 years with PhD.
* Prior knowledge and experience integrating and modifying the following aircraft systems and equipment: Audio, tactical radio/communications, EO/IR/IMINT, SIGINT, video distribution/downlink, INS/GPS, FMS and EFIS.
* Familiarity with EMI/EMC prevention, wire shielding and wire protection/sizing.
* Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems and wiring diagrams.
* Past experience in developing electrical modification and installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations.
* Possess an understanding of standard engineering drawing conventions.
* Possess the ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 23 & Part 25 aircraft certifications requirements, the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process, AC43.13 and Instructions for Continued Air Worthiness.
* Coordination experience with FAA DARs and DERs for any necessary assistance and/or approvals.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and familiarity with documents needed to routinely maintain commercial aircraft: Wiring Diagram Manual (WDM), Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalog (IPC), etc.
