Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Database Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Columbia, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Cyber Intelligence Division/Essex business unit - A market leader which innovates a culture of creativity, investment, and teamwork to solve the Intelligence Community's toughest problems. Roles and Responsibilities: The candidate will directly support the Program performing designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications. May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience. * A minimum of 10 years experience in developing applications for and providing life cycle support to databases. * Experience over a wide range of databases, to include but not limited to: DB2, BRS, Lotus Notes, MS Access, MS SQL, Oracle, and Sybase. * Experience in the following: requirements analysis, software development and installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and testing. * Problem diagnosis and resolution. * Position requires a current TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience evaluating and recommending available DBMS products to support customer requirements (desired)* Experience defining database organization and indexing methods (desired)* Experience implementing database security (desired)* Experience developing relational and/or Object Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. * Experience developing and conducting performance measurements.
