Chosen candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph. No relocation package is offered with this position. Cyber Systems Engineer 5 Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: * Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. * Bachelors degree in a related field. Additional applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. * Minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience working on engineering projects for government or industry customers, demonstrating increasing levels of technical expertise and responsibility, including: o Provides leadership for engineering of systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and/or processes. o Applies best industry practices and standards, leading-edge technology, and innovative solutions to intractable problems. o Works directly with customer management to apply advances principles, theories, and concepts and develops comprehensive solutions to complex problems. o Employs methodologies for guiding others in problem resolution. Develops insightful solutions to meet fiscal, technological, and schedule constraints. o Leads definition, trade-off and design activities. o Leads analysis of requirements to ensure intended functionality, operation and performance requirements are achieved. o May provide daily supervision and direction of staff. * Minimum of seven (7) years of experience leading/strongly supporting engineering for a project in one (1) of the following technologies: Web applications, GUI development, User interfaces/usability, Cloud computing, Map/Reduce, Geolocations, SW Radio, Text processing, Natural language processing, Entity extraction, Entity disambiguation, Distributed processing, Java-RMI, SOAP, RESTful services, Virtualization, TCP/IP, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Document processing, Machine learning/classification.
Preferred Qualifications: * An advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in an engineering discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Linguistics, or similar technical major. * Experience in applied ontology and/or expertise in design and development of ontology-driven software solutions. * Published articles, books, or papers on relevant technical topics during the last ten years.
