Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree plus six (6) years experience in a Systems Administrator role. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
* Willingness to work in an Agile environment
* 2+ years experience with a variety of Unix or Linux Operating systems
* 1+ years of experience with a variety of mission application software
* 1+ years of experience in advanced system problem solving
* Excellent verbal communication skills required to assist customers effectively and courteously
* Ability to work independently- must be a self-starter
* Willingness to provide after-hours call-in support (pager rotation)* Good interpersonal and written communication skills
* Highly organized and detail oriented Position requires an active TS/SCI w/ polygraph clearance
