This position requires initiative, motivation, problem-solving skills and a strong practical background in mechanical, electrical, security, and construction concepts. Responsibilities include fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting and testing of prototype components and systems of varying complexity. This position includes a high degree of contact operating personnel, and requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. The individual must be able to work and solve problems with a minimum of supervision and assist in multiple concurrent projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Project Execution
Provides local and offsite technical assistance in the design, integration, installation, test, and operations and maintenance of facilities infrastructure systems and subsystems of varying degrees of complexity and size
Read and interpret engineering drawings and instructions
Use basic measuring/inspection instruments
Use a variety of hand and machine tools to fabricate and assemble prototype systems
Offsite and OCONUS travel up to 90% of total hours,with occassional R&R.
Provides technical assistance to Facility Manager in the and operation of reliable, dependable, rugged and maintainable infrastructure systems
Other duties as assigned
Asset Management
Maintain and perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on tools and shop equipment
Work safely and maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company processes and procedures
Maintain overall building/plant efficiency and cleanliness, serving as an example to others.
Preferred Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with three-four years of progressive hands-on experience in facility infrastructure components and systems
Hands-on experience in and technical proficiency of physical and facility security systems, electrical and mechanical, including HVAC and chillers
Basic skills in Windows/MS Office required
Eligibility to attain TOP SECRET security clearance required
Requisite Skills
Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in support of multiple project schedules
Operate common shop machining equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude, good motor skills and dexterity
Work within a prototyping and integration facility with exposure to moving mechanical moving parts, electrical circuits and work from lifts, ladders and other devices.
Required to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Willing to learn and grow professionally and assume greater responsibilities
