Certification Requirements (required at Day 1 – start date):
1. Commercial Certification: CISSP
AND
2. Computing Environment Certification: MCTS or MCSE/A

Key Skills/Expertise/Experience Required:
• Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM 2007), Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) and HP System Insight Manager, along with other enterprise management tools.
• Have a solid grasp of local and wide area (including international) networking considerations within USAMITC, the AMEDD, the Military health system (MHS) and the Department of Defense.
• Experience with Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide-Area Network (WAN) defined infrastructures.
• Expertise in problem resolution and troubleshooting mail routing problems requiring an understanding of the LAN/WAN TCIP routing topology, communications devices and functionality (hubs, routers, switches, firewalls, etc) for problem resolution.
• Proficient in client and server hardware and software.
• Highly developed analytical skills and expertise relating to information system design, development and systems management, as well as technical management skills for team leadership
Task Description:
The Monitoring Tools Engineer shall implement and maintain enterprise level tools used to support the AMEDD systems worldwide.
5.1.3.1 The contractor shall analyze MEDCOM's current enterprise system monitoring implementation and provide a status report before and after remediation actions engineered and executed.
5.1.3.2 The contractor shall engineer a monitoring environment in support of deployment to all enterprise servers.
5.1.3.3 The contractor shall validate MEDCOM's monitoring deployment plans for compliance with existing performance limitations of the enterprise servers software.
5.1.3.4 The contractor shall perform training sessions for Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support staff to include troubleshooting processes.
5.1.3.5 The contractor shall reconfigure monitoring tools and components for conditions as determined to impact performance and scalability.
5.1.3.6 The contractor shall engineer and conduct a disaster recovery scenario for all supported device types within MEDCOM.
5.1.3.7 The contractor shall provide best practice for user education/communication.
5.1.3.8 The contractor shall review MEDCOM FAQ's and provide additional Knowledge Base articles applicable to the MEDCOM environment.
5.1.3.9 The contractor shall provide engineering details in a customer modifiable Visio format as requested.
5.1.3.10 The contractor shall engineer daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly checklists for enterprise monitoring and preventative maintenance.
