SYSTEMS SUPPORT EXPERTS
CTC is seeking qualified candidates for a number of technical positions related to systems administration and support for several large systems development and support contracts. Our team will support the client through development, upgrading and/or enhancing software and/ or full system solutions using integrated Free Open Source Software (FOSS), Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS), Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) hardware and software components per client requirements. Additionally, our team will support the development life-cycle activities to include some or all of the following as directed by the appropriate contract: architecture, performance and functional specification activities; introduction of new requirements; hardware, software, and systems engineering development; creation of design specifications for developed systems, documentation creation for developed systems, systems acquisition activities, systems certification and accreditation; test and evaluation support; training development and support to ensure that systems are used effectively, supported, and integrated into the operating environment.
In accordance with specific contract requirements, we are seeking candidates in the following technical areas:
Systems and Network Administration
Systems Support Technician (may include 24x7 tiered support)
Systems Security Administration and Compliance, and other similar positions
Requirements:
Candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the implementation, monitoring, administration, testing and/or other support of operational or developmental systems. For some contracts, candidates may be asked to provide voluntary 24x7 on-call and on-site support as needed, run point on resolution of critical issues or outages within the production environment, monitor systems for performance issues and problems, and perform root cause analysis on outages within the production environment as well as make recommendations for preventing future occurrences. Candidates will likely perform the following tasks:
Perform reviews of the production systems
Make performance improvement recommendations related to capacity and/or design
Monitor system performance, system availability, transactions processed and user response times on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Perform vulnerability scan and mitigation tasks
Support system and/or software upgrades
Support C&A activities and planning
Support and/or lead documentation development or modification/enhancement [i.e. User Guides, Standard Operation Procedure (SOPs) documents, etc.]
Candidates should have knowledge of Windows Server & XP, Linux (RHEL), and Solaris Operating Systems, SAN & RAID, BEA Weblogic administration, equipment staging, and networking background with an emphasis on security. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills, analytical background with troubleshooting skills, and experience with scripting (e.g. Perl, etc.). Experience with large, mission critical enterprise environments, and administration of various COTS products (CVS, SVN, Cisco Pix, Foundry, Tomcat, Nagios, Apache, and others) is preferred, but not required.
These positions require the ability to attain a DoDD 8570.01-M certification (i.e. Network+, Security+, CISSP, etc.) and the ability to hold that certification in active status.
Candidates may be required to possess additional certifications such as: MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, RHCE, NCLA, etc.
A Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Network or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Information Assurance; or a related field or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Network or Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Information Assurance or a related field is needed for most positions. However, for some positions relevant experience performing similar work may be substituted for educational requirements.
Minimum Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI (many positions will also require a polygraph and/or the willingness to take and pass a polygraph)
