Oasis Systems LLC is seeking a person to fill a full time position as a software engineer.
The focus of this position is software development in the field of speech and audio processing. Candidates will be expected to assist in the development of user interfaces, plug-ins for existing applications, assist in systems design, as well as working on algorithm implementation and optimization. You will be working in a group of more than 30 people that has been performing research and development on speech and audio in Rome, NY for over 30 years.
The most important consideration for this position is significant programming experience in C and C++. Ideally, the candidate should have experience in developing cross-platform applications.
The ability to work productively in a team environment is a must. The candidate will be expected to work closely with other software engineers, researchers, and customer support personnel on a daily basis. Additionally, the candidate should be self-driven and able to work individually when necessary.
This position is for a long-term, career-minded individual who would prefer a stable and secure work environment. Nearly all of the group members, including the software engineers, have been working in the group for more than 5 years.
Our site is located in the Utica/Rome area of Upstate New York, just 15 miles from the largest Park in the lower 48 States: the Adirondacks.
Required
3-5+ years experience in software development
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Significant C/C++ programming experience
Significant application development experience to include:
Strong understanding of object oriented programming
Some software design experience
Experience designing and building graphic user interfaces a plus
Ability to function well in team environment
Self-motivated and able to work individually when required
Positive attitude and results-oriented focus
United States citizenship and qualified for security clearance
Desirable Additional Factors
Qt development experience a big plus
Web services or service oriented architecture development
UML diagramming skills
Experience with Linux, Matlab, perl, python or shell scripting
Experience with version control and software documentation
Knowledge of audio/signal processing
