| Engineer - Senior SA, Infrastructure Architect 4/5 |

Accepting applicants at multiple band levels. Candidate must have proven experience as a system's architect with large, multi-tiered systems. Candidate must have hands on experience with Sun, SGI, and IBM systems using Linux, Solaris, Irix, AIX, and Windows. Candidate must have experience architecting network solutions on DoD classified environments. Candidate will be responsible for architecting, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining multi-platform servers within a software development and test environment. Other duties include, supervising and training less-experienced administrators, scripting, project management for computer systems-related projects, responding to service outages, and serving as consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of engineering staff. Must be able to demonstrate aptitude in the following areas: * Administration of classified-processing systems within strict security policies and procedures * Name Service design, configuration and maintenance (NIS, LDAP, DNS) * OS installations, (Red Hat, Solaris, Irix) on servers and workstations * File system (EXT3, UFS, ZFS, NFS, XFS) configuration and maintenance procedures * Network concepts (such as subnetting, routing and fault-tolerance configurations) * Understanding and implementing computer lab requirements * Application support for SW developers * COTS SW installation, configuration and maintenance * Development and implementation of lab procedures and policies * Creating accurate, detailed technical procedures and installation instructions * Performance of technical research leading to solutions for system or software limitations * Experience with NISPOM compliance and yearly DSS certification * Provide leadership, planning, procedures and input to computer solution architectures Band 5 engineers are expected to lead large complex projects, provide mentoring and direction to junior administrators, and interface with Program customers. Band 4 engineers are expected to lead teams, provide mentoring and direction to junior administrators, and interface with Program customers. 25% of travel required. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related discipline. DoD Secret clearance. Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related discipline. TS/SCI Clearance preferred. Common Job Description Analyzes, models, designs and simulates communications systems, subsystems, and algorithms for communication networks, data links, digital radio, battle management, and command and control systems such as wide and local area networks, point-to-point systems, secure systems, signal coding and modulation schema, digital radio/communications technology and network architecture design.
Typical Minimum Education / Experience:
