Systems Security Engineer 2/3  
Accepting candidates at multiple band levels. As a Systems Security Engineer (SSE), support the design, development, evaluation, and accreditation of large-scale, distributed DoD and IC computer systems. Provide technical assessment of the security impacts from changes to operational networks. Develop secure network architectures, requirements, operational concepts, and security accreditation plans and procedures. Work with hardware and software engineers and/or commercial vendors in the selection and evaluation of state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Provide security engineering and integration services to internal customers. Support the preparation and approval of Security Certification & Authorization (C&A) materials. The following are basic qualifications for this position: 1) Experience in performing Security Test & Evaluation on UNIX, AIX, Linux, and Windows systems. 2) Experience in evaluating the results of ST&E, determining the system security risks, identifying existing mitigations, and developing feasible solutions to resolve those risks. 3) Experience developing security documentation in support of system security certification and accreditation. 4) Experience with security-related hardware, software, external interfaces, commercial security products, and architecture/design practices for secret and SCI systems. 5) Experience developing system engineering products, i.e., system architectures, CONOPS, and requirements. The individual must also have experience in DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), Director of Central Intelligence Directive 6/3 (DCID 6/3), and the Information Assurance Technical Framework (IATF). Band 2 engineers are expected to demonstrate frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques, and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. Band 2 engineers provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned. Band 2 engineers provide support to team leads, internal company team contacts, other program engineers, and support interface with prime contractor/customers, working under general supervision.Band 3 engineers are expected to perform the above and demonstrate complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field, along with general knowledge of other related disciplines. Band 3 engineers provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Band 3 engineers work under only general direction, independently developing problem solutions, provide mentoring and direction to junior engineers, provide problem resolution support; and support schedule status & support the cost account manager (CAM). Bachelors Degree required in engineering, computer science, or closely related field with 2+ years of experience in software/network engineering and the development of Information Assurance solutions. Four or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to acquire TS/SCI clearance required. Strong interpersonal, oral presentation and written documentations skills. Previous or current System Administration (SA) experience with UNIX, AIX, Linux or Windows systems is highly desired. Certification as a Security professional (CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent). Common Job Description Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.

Typical Minimum Education / Experience:
